Basics + Braids

Crunchy leaves are my favorite part of fall. But light layers, long pants and apple and pumpkin everything are pretty stiff competition for a first place tie.
The things that made up this weekend were the stuff of autumn dreams: Ideal temperatures coupled with bright blue skies, walks to the park that consisted of stomping on every leaf the trees surrendered, spotting airplanes and marveling at them like we'd never seen such wonder, and drinking festive orange milk that was supposed to taste like creamsicles, but that my husband more accurately labeled as "Orange Triaminic in Milk."

On another note of keeping-it-real:
I'm afraid I've completely lost my knack for walking in these sky-high heels.
Before I became a mom, heels were just another part of my everyday wardrobe. Then, after Jack came along, their practicality plummeted and now they sit on reserve for occasions that don't include solo toting or chasing of a toddler.
So if you're sitting there saying to yourself, "Yeah right. She does not fulfill her motherly duties in those shoes," you're right. She doesn't. She swaps the pumps for Keds and then hits up the grocery store.
