My everyday beauty routine is about 80 percent skincare and 20 percent makeup.
I'm a little obsessive about cleansing and moisturizing (twice) daily and exfoliating regularly, and I'm a firm believer that if you take good care of your skin, you'll only need makeup to enhance your natural beauty.

These products are my daily must haves, and though I have other favorites to change up the routine here and there, these products are the base of every look I create.

Daily cleansing is a must, whether you wear a lot of makeup, a little makeup or none at all. Our faces come in contact with lots of nasties throughout the day.
Choose a cleanser that best fits your skin type (dry, oily, combination, etc). I live in a desert, dry climate, so my skin needs all the moisture it can get year-round.

My go-to cleanser is Arcona's Kiwi Cream Bar because it offers my skin the perfect amount of moisture without leaving any residue.
I exfoliate about once a week with Arcona's Cranberry Gommage to remove dead skin cells and help my face feel fresh.

Because my skin needs extra moisture, I use two different moisturizers.
Arcona's Magic White Ice is a light moisturizing formula that seems to prevent my face from losing moisture throughout the day. Its finish is so soft it's almost powdery. If you live in an arid climate, you may be able to get away with just using a light moisturizer like this one.

Estee Lauder's Hydrationist moisturizer is the last skincare product I apply before my makeup. It's quite moisturizing, but never feels greasy and my skin just drinks it up. It provides a good even base if you're going to apply concealer or foundation.

I also use Kiehl's Dark Spot Solution to even out my skintone. Because my skin is so fair, blemish spots don't fade very quickly, and this stuff helps speed up that process. (I apply this after cleansing, before either of the moisturizers.)

My basic makeup routine goes like this:
1. Concealor (Estee Lauder Double Wear) applied to dark undereye circles and blemish spots.
2. Highlighter (The Balm Cosmetics, Mary-Lou Manizer) a small dusting to the top of cheekbones and bridge of my nose for a contoured, glowing effect.
3. Powder (Estee Lauder Double Wear Mineral Rich Loose Powder) applied evenly all over with a powder brush.
4. Blush/Eye Shadow (Got Pops Cosmetics Pressed Eye Shadow in Peach). It's what I like to call a "two-birds-with-one-stone" product, which means I can use it as both a subtle eye shadow or a blush.
5. Mascara (Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara)
6. Brows (Estee Lauder Automatic Brow Pencil). Brows can seriously make or break your face, ladies. If you'd like, you can read my brow advice here. But trust me. Your brows should be well groomed and properly highlighted.

happy beautifying!
